Welcome to Rahela Trust
Providing mentoring and university scholarships to Afghan women for a progressive, inclusive Afghanistan.

A UK-based, Afghan-led charity founded in 2015 by Afghan women's rights activist, Rahela Sidiqi.
About Us
Rahela Trust was set up in response to the many attacks on girls and young women seeking an education across Afghanistan.
Our mission is to provide university scholarships and leadership mentoring to talented, disadvantaged young women from rural areas. This will help to create female leaders and agents of change for a positive and
progressive society in Afghanistan.
Because women + education = positive change.
Our Goals
Our Vision
By supporting young women to excel academically and professionally, we are enabling their financial independence. Ultimately, their presence and contribution to civic life will ensure they are helping to shape a progressive Afghan society.
Their success will encourage and inspire other women and girls to pursue higher education. Systematic discrimination restricts women’s access to education: Rahela Trust aims to create safe spaces for Afghan women to pursue their education.
Rahela Sidiqi is the Founding Director of Rahela Trust. She is the former Senior Advisor of Afghanistan's Civil Service Commission and Senior Social Development Advisor of UN-Habitat Afghanistan. Since 1993, she has worked as a women’s rights activist at the grassroots and policy levels in Afghanistan.
